Banff Cultural Leadership Curriculum Research and Design

This Leadership Certificate is the next step in building a sustainable career in the arts, where participants expand their professional networks, while the learning ensures that skills learnt can be put into practice. The Certificate will be designed for those who want to sharpen their leadership potential and abilities to function ethically, imaginatively and resourcefully and to both advance the arts and promote themselves nationally and internationally. This will be achieved by providing learning opportunities for participants from small to large enterprises to broaden their understanding of issues concerning the arts, including financial management, sustainability and contract negotiations.

 The intent is to establish a Leadership Certificate that is grounded in theory and practice, with one compulsory course in Cultural Leadership Foundations & Equity, and a second recommended compulsory course in Cultural Policy & Advocacy, and four to six electives.
