Community Cultural Development and Engagement

Open Textbook: Edited by Annetta Latham

MacEwan University faculty members were invited to submit proposals for participation in the 2019-2021 Open Textbook Fellowship program. This pilot program brings together selected faculty who are committed to working together to develop high-quality, sustainable open textbooks and complementary ancillary materials for use in MacEwan courses, and by the broader post-secondary community, while also working towards increasing local awareness and interest in open education resources (OER).

This open textbook will be the primary resource for the new AGAD 234 Community Cultural Development and Engagement course which I am currently writing for the Bachelor of Fine Art – Art and Cultural Management degree. It will also be a resource for AGAD 240 Event Management , AGAD 203/223 Project Management, AGAD 233/231 Field Placement and AGAD 112 Audience and Resource Development - all course that I revised, developed, and taught. The textbook is a compilation of a collection of co-authors with subject matter expertise.

Publication mid 2026.
