Supervision of Student Research
guiding students through practice-based and community-engaged research projects that integrate creative production with scholarly inquiry.
I have supervised over 30 student research projects, each culminating in a creative or production-based outcome. These projects have ranged from written research outputs to the realisation of artistic works and place-making initiatives.
Several of these student-led projects have successfully secured research funding and incorporated significant elements of community engagement. Examples include The Little Library and The Foe Project, which exemplify the integration of creative practice, research inquiry, and community collaboration.
Drawing on my expertise in cultural production and creative project development, I support students from project inception through to completion, strengthening their research design, critical reflection, and capacity for independent inquiry.
These projects contribute to developing research-led practice and professional readiness in the creative and cultural industries.
The Foe Project – A creative video production based on Iain Reid’s Foe (MacEwan Book of the Year 2020–21), developed in collaboration with the author and supported through student-led research and funding initiatives.

The Little Library - A project, to design and install a Little Library on the second floor of Allard Hall – MacEwan University, was developed as a means to create a more relaxed, user-friendly space. Theatre Production student Snow White saw an opportunity to practice her skills, exercise her creative freedom and make her campus more like a home away from home.
"The Little Library is a less academic-focused space for students to use for relaxing and recuperating, especially for those who cannot go home between classes," says Student designer Snow White.
